Shannon is dedicated to working with adolescents and families. She excels at building trusting relationships and creating a foundation of respect, honesty, and compassion. Shannon loves to laugh and often uses humor to connect with and gently challenge her clients. Originally from Ohio, Shannon received her undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition from Ohio State University. Her background in nutrition gives her a unique perspective and interest in the impacts that food and physical health have on mental health. Pursuing her passion, Shannon went on to earn her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Akron, and has since received additional training in Trauma Informed-CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, LGBTQ issues, and eating disorders, as well as a certification in Child, Adolescent and Family Therapy from New York University. Prior to New Haven, Shannon worked in the New York City public school system for 4 years and decided to head West making the move to Utah and began working in the residential setting. Shannon is also the founding member of a virtual mental healthcare startup. Shannon strongly values experiential therapies and strives to bring art, animals, and physical movement into therapy whenever possible. Outside of work, Shannon enjoys reading, baking, long hikes, and couch snuggles with her dog, Leo. Her current goal being an avid runner is to participate in a marathon in all 50 states, she loves road trips and visiting National Parks with her husband.
