Rachel Gardner was born into the world of dance and the arts. With an artistic father employed in the entertainment industry in Hollywood, California and a mother a formerowner/director of Tehachapi Dance Theatre, her artistic gifts and love of dance and movement came as a natural outgrowth. She has been working with adolescents since 1997. After her first experience in 2006 teaching dance at a residential treatment center she found her place. As a dance teacher and experiencing the healing process of movement she naturally found a love and passion for yoga and received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certifications through Joy of Yoga in 2008. Rachel began teaching therapeutic yoga immediately after receiving her yoga certificate and has continued to educate herself through masterclasses and is currently in the process of working towards her 500 hour through My Vinyasa Practice. Yoga introduced Rachel to a lot more than just movement.
The integration of the physical and mental exercises of Yoga created a greater sense of balance and unity in her mind, body and spirit which she was moved to share with her students and the world. As a result of her own personal experiences and healing through her yoga practice she found a great need to engage herself and others in this practice. In this busy, time-driven world, Yoga creates a way to stop time, stop the noise outside and from within, and teaches us how to be present. Guiding her students to be in the moment through asanas, breathwork and meditation she has seen a renewal of strength, clarity and peace with her students. Rachel strives to create a safe and healthy learning environment where students can learn how to listen to their bodies, try new things, heal and explore the strength and spirit within them. When Rachel is not engaged in yoga, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, cheering them on in their passions and trying to finish the half-read stack of books next to her bed
