New Haven’s experiential groups are run by licensed recreational therapists and/or certified ROPES facilitators. They provide 350+ therapeutic experiential activities to our students and families, including sand tray therapy. Experiential therapy is held at least four times a week. These are 90-120 minute sessions. Two Saturdays each month are dedicated to “long day” experiential activities which include off campus service projects. New Haven is equipped with a low- and high-task ROPES course. Experiential therapy provides hands-on activities used to teach life skills in areas such as relationships, communication, team work, self-esteem, self-awareness, accountability, and responsibility for actions.
