Loren is originally from a small farming community in eastern Oregon. After graduating from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors degree in Family Sciences, Loren began working with teenagers at an outdoor residential treatment center in southern Utah. After three years, he moved to Salt Lake City to pursue a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. While attending graduate school, he worked with teenagers and their families in a day treatment center for five years. He has experience working with trauma, adoption, depression, and substance abuse, using traditional and experiential therapy methods. Loren is married and has three sons who he loves to spend time with, especially in the outdoors. He loves to go golfing, camping, hiking, fly-fishing, and spending time riding his dirt bike.
